Mr Britton & Dr Pheasant would be proud...

Our school geography teachers (yes, Graeme's was ironically called Mr Britton) it turns out equiped us well for yesterday's challenge.  We found ourselves on the outskirts of Melaka with a taxi driver who we don't think had ever driven into the town before.
Armed with the address of the hotel we'd booked and the map from a Lonely Plant (in fuzzy form because we bought it on the street in Vietnam) we proceeeded to direct him from the backseat through the rush-hour traffic and complicated one-way systems.  You'd have thought that pointing was an international language but apparently not!  Nevertheless after us learning the Malay for left and right, a few wrong turns, one dead-end and a numher of close shaves with cars/bikes/lorries we finally arrived safely...we just hope the driver isn't still stuck on the one-way system!
