A couple of days after arriving in New Zealand we found ourselves heading South in our recently hired and very comfy campervan (christened Vinny). We arrived in a town and found ourselves driving down Princes Street, George Street, Hanover Street.....hang on a second! We'd heard these names before. We were in fact in Dunedin, which for those of you not fluent in Gaelic is the name for Edinburgh. Besides the street names the other similarities we noticed were the wind, rain, cold temperatures and general grey skies that we've both come to know and love.
Unfortunately we couldn't hang about as we had some serious penguin spotting to do. We managed to see from afar three penguins that could easily have been seals/rocks/rats. We were however very fortunate to also see a huge Royal Albatross swoop over our heads...quite a sight but too quick for our camera - sorry!
